My father, Ken, passed away last night, Friday, October 13, 2006.
Friday the 13th. Always the showman.
He went peacefully and quickly, after a long “battle” with ALS/Lou Gehrig’s Disease. I say “battle” because one doesn’t fight ALS. It’s a terminal illness.
As my father put it, “I’m dying an inch at a time.”
Dad, you did good. You hung in there longer than anyone expected. And then, suddenly, you were gone.
No more fighting. Only peace.
God bless you.
[I want to sincerely thank those of you who have supported my father and my family for the many years we’ve been participating in the Walk to D’Feet ALS. It seems ironic, but my father went so unexpectedly–even though we’ve been expecting this for a few years–I haven’t yet thanked everyone for this year’s walk contributions. I will. And we sincerely appreciate your support. His battlle is over, the fight against ALS is not: http://web.alsa.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1250&px=1008548. ]
